Original LauraCatoe.com site design

This was up from the site's incarnation in July 2003 until I began blogging in December 2003.

Heather

Illustration of the Month for November 2003*

*I'm making this the illustration of the month retroactively. Originally, it was one of my collages (Mixed-Metaphor Postcard) but now that one's featured in =1000words and the link to this illustration of Heather got lost in a site redesign.

Unfinished dot drawing

Illustration of the Month for June 2003

Black and white dot drawings were an assignment my mom gave her Art I students every year. (Color dot drawings were for Art II.) I worked on this dot drawing of Kris the night I stayed with my mom in the hospital before she died. That may be why I never finished it. (Or maybe I never would have finished it anyway because they take so long!)

Barely There Squares

Illustration of the Month for February 2003

Sketched on 11x14 with colored pencils; inspired by a guy I saw online who makes similar doodles on the backs of business cards.

Conte crayon girl

Illustration of the Month for January 2003

Done with Conte crayon, this is taken from a girl in a Matrix (the hair product line, not the movie) advertisement. However, the drawing is better if you don't know what the girl is supposed to look like.
